Roles & Responsibilities: Full Time Position
Administers the systems assigned to include operations, software updates, troubleshooting, hardware configuration, and system security. Applies systems engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, and prepare system technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation; applies system administration experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, and resource management. Provides accreditation support. Supports DoD IA policies and procedures.
Tasks include but are not limited to the following to be performed on an as needed basis:
•Establish and manage authorized user accounts for Information Systems (IS), including configuring access controls to enable access to authorized information, removing authorized information, and removing authorizations when access is no longer needed.
•Scan and Patch system devices.
•Report and document any suspected or confirmed computer security incidents, risks and violations to the Information Assurance Officer (IAO).
•Assist the IAO in accreditation support as needed.
•Configure and operate IA (Information Assurance) and IA-enabled technology according to DOD information system IA policies and procedures and notify the IAO and Configuration Control Board (CCB) of any changes that might adversely impact IA.
•Responsible for installing hardware/software upgrades, including Operating System (OS) upgrades and patches and implementation of IA controls. Responsible for installation, management, maintenance, and procurement/renewals of software licenses. The employee shall document the status using the IT Report (CDRL A026)
•Perform regular backups of network device configurations and responsible for viewing, verifying, and backing-up of non-NMCI system logs and audits.
•Provide user support and troubleshooting for hardware and customer software applications.
Conditions will vary. Most work performed in enclosed buildings. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs and 50-100 lbs. assisted by other employees.
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Successful completion of technical school, trade school, advanced armed services technical school in systems administration, or completion of at least 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) in computer programming, operations, or systems management from an accredited college or university.
•A minimum of 3 years experience performing the stated functions
•In Lieu of post high school education/training, a total of 6 years experience in performing the stated functions is acceptable.

Ability to obtain a US DoD Interim Secret Security clearance prior to hire, granted a Secret clearance, and ability to maintain clearance throughout employment. Favored candidate without a current clearance must successfully complete and submit a Sf 86 Security Clearance Questionnaire along with fingerprints prior to hire.
All candidates will be required to pass a consumer report and/or consumer investigation to include SSN, Driver Record and Criminal Background Investigation.
