Job Description

W-Industries is seeking to hire a industrial electrician with 5+ years of experience to join our team in Pecos, Texas as soon as possible. Th ideal candidate will be required to perform duties in Texas as well as New Mexico. State electrical licenses will be required to be considered for this role. Housing, Overtime and per diem provided. 20/10 schedule.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threading machine, rules and conduit benders
  • Installing, modifying and fabricating cable tray accordingly to drawings & P&ID's.
  • Read and understand P&ID's (symbols, tags and instrument lines), wiring diagrams and instrument loop drawings.
  • Pulls wiring through wiring raceway, assisted by helper.
  • Load, transport and unload tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads.
  • Test continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope.
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with screws or bolts using hand or power tools.
  • Assist in lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installation. Work on electrical systems ranging from 12vcd to 480 vac; electrical meters and diagnostics tools for troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Perform minor maintenance of cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures including lockout/tag out procedures
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • 5 years or more electrical experience
  • Read and understand P&ID's (symbols, tags and instrument lines), wiring diagrams and instrument loop drawings.
  • Understand how to read and translate the information found within all schematic wiring P&ID's process diagrams and experience with applicable codes and standards
  • Proven organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven problem solver, results focused, self-motivated.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Must be able to work individually and on a team.
  • Drug screen and background check required

Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements listed below in harsh and/or stressful conditions.

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to reach with arms and use tools above/over the head.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements.
  • Ability to use hands to grasp.
  • Ability to stand (for extended periods of time), walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl and twist
  • Ability to sit, balance and climb ladders, scaffolds and other objects.
  • Ability to carry tools.
  • Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas.
  • Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes.
  • Ability to distinguish colors.
  • Vision adequate to perform all required tasks.
