Overview

The H&K Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Field Saftey Specialist to join our team! The Field Saftey Specialist carries out saftey supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. The Saftey Specialist will oversee and supervise divisions and job sites located north of PA Interstate 78.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, and recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated.


  • Conducts and participates in the investigation of accidents, injuries, and vandalism in all company divisions and affiliates and develops preventive measures for the future.


  • Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.


  • Develops, organizes, conducts, assists, and coordinates training programs which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness.


  • Assists employees in company drug and alcohol program.


  • Maintains safety files and records.
  • 30 hour OSHA.


  • OSHA 500 Card for Outreach Trainer Authorization


  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs


  • Able to remain calm in stressful situations


  • Able to assist in conflict resolution and encourage teamwork


  • Hours regularly exceed 40 hours


  • On-Call requirements 24-7


Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or College Degree; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A 30 Hour OSHA (Construction) card is preferred. Applicant should possess and OSHA 500 Card - for Outreach Trainer Authorization

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
