PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

The Production Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant for production and manufacturing to ensure policies and procedures are followed. They develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.

Requirements:

MAJOR AREAS FOR ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers' expectations.
  • Increase production, assess capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
  • Coach, lead and develop direct reports.
  • Attend Plant Leadership Meetings and liaison with functional support groups such as Safety, Planning, Finance, Human Resources and Sales.
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.
  • Commit to plant safety procedures.
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Influence and learn from below.
  • Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concept.
  • Assist in the master planning and scheduling process.
  • Understand and respond to forecasted demands.
  • Manage KPI's and report on performance metrics.
  • Capacity Planning and Workforce utilization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALFICIATIONS FOR ENTRY:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Engineering or related field with 3-5 years of previous experience as a Production Manager or 5-7 years as a Production Supervisor.
  • Experience with Machining, Welding and Fabrication is preferred, but not required.
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
  • Proven leader with respect to lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes.
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
  • Must be US person or PRC holder due to access to products and technology controlled under the ITAR

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Anderson Dahlen fosters a manufacturing type environment. This role will work within the office setting. Moderately heavy work requiring the occasional lifting of objects weighing 50 pounds or less.
